LD 2034 would prohibit the sale of energy drinks to minors under the age of 18.

Paul Bulger: The wealthiest 35,000 families in Maine should double the amount they receive as a federal rebate check as part of the recently-passed stimulus package and send it to Augusta to cover any cuts in social programs.

The federal government has allowed Maine to delay the implementation of new Medicaid rules until July 1, which will help the state save $12 million.

BDN: Legislators should review as much information about proposed spending cuts as they can before rejecting them.

SJ: Maine should require solid proof residency before issuing a driver's license, but inquiring about immigration status should not be part of the process.
