Acorn News Flash

Via an Acorn Productions press release:
[T]he company has selected 5 full-length plays to
be given dramatic readings in the Acorn Studio Theater as part of the process of
choosing a featured play for this year's Maine Playwrights Festival. The scripts
were chosen from the 17 pieces submitted this fall by Maine-based playwrights
and address issues ranging from race relations to aging and military recruiting
practices.
And in other Acorn-related news, the Portland City Council gave the theatrical company the green light to resume their Naked Shakespeare performances in the Forest City, so any previous hopes for disrobed thespians (figuratively speaking, of course) reciting Shakespeare at The Frog and Turtle appear to be for naught.
