Reminder

After reading about swastikas popping up around Portland, I was reminded that we Paper Citiers have our own batch of swastikas to scrub from the environs.

A triumverate of that hateful symbol has been spray-painted on the overpass connecting Lawrence Street to Stroudwater. To be clear, though, they have existed since at least September, so they probably shouldn't be included in the latest trend of racist propaganda sprouting up around southern Maine in the last month or so.

P.S. Unlike Nissen, the hooligans who sprayed the swastikas on the bridge can't claim ignorance of the events that made that symbol so ugly. On second thought, maybe they can.
