METRO Board Raises Fares

PPH:
The full fare will increase from $1.25 to $1.50,
and the monthly pass from $37.50 to $40. The board had originally proposed
increasing the monthly pass to $45. But the board today voted 5-2 to lower the
increase.
According to the piece, Westbrook's investment into the service increased $12,021 this year, bringing the city's total share to $370,044. That represents about 13% of the costs, as Portland contributes $2,302,233 to the service, and Falmouth pays $127,486.
