Town Warfare, Part Deux

On Sunday, the Press Herald pit Westbrook against Cape. And today some Press Herald commenters are measuring the merits of Westbrook against those of Old Orchard (yes, OOB does have a few merits).

It began when either commenter Larry Larrolds or OOBToughguy--both of Old Orchard Beach--talked some smack about the Paper City (both comments have subsequently been deleted by the Press Herald because they violate the website's user guidelines, so I can't be sure which one actually trashed on us).

Then, Les of Boston wrote: "Wow, people from OOB trashing on people from westbrook (sic), that is some good irony right there."

Which inspired this sarcastic response from OOBToughguy: "You are all right. I was wrong. OOB can't compete w/ da brook. Who in Westbrook would go shopping at an upscale store? Build a WalMart, Mardens and Super McDonalds (that accepts food stamps) and they will come in droves. Stay away from any store that sells soap, deodorant or toothpaste." Ouch.

What's next, a battle royale with Buckfield?

(Update: All these heated words have me worried since my condo association's homeowners' insurance doesn't cover damage caused by "war, including undeclared or civil war; warlike action by a military force; or insurrection, rebellion, revolution, usurped power, or action taken by a governmental authority in hindering or defending against any of these.")
