Westbrook High swimmers Kyle Goan and Derek Hawkes each became New England champions yesterday afternoon at the New England Swimming and Diving Championships at Bates College's Tarbell Pool.
Goan, a senior, won the 100-yard freestyle in 48.58 seconds, and Hawkes, a junior, won the 500-yard freestyle in 4:59:64.
